Want to travel around the world?
Stupid question — of course you do! we’ll I just heard the news that Global Scavenger Hunt is looking for 50 travelers to join their around the world travel adventure competition.
Now, before you get too excited, I have to tell you that this isn’t an Amazing Race type travel freebie that will skyrocket you to D-list reality TV stardom. No, my dear travelers, this is Great Escape 2008 — an annual adventure travel / charity event where 50 travelers make their way from Los Angeles to New York, the long way. The travelers will circumnavigate the globe while hitting at least 10 countries and 4 continents — and its all for a good cause. You’ll have to help with fund raising for the event, and they have a lofty, but achievable goal of raising a million dollars for charities like: KIVA, CARE, Doctors Without Borders, and UNICEF.
Additionally, you’ll have to pony up the hefty entrance fee of $9,900 (!!!), which includes all airfare and hotels for the 23-day event.
Here’s what the folks at Global Scavenger Hunt had to say about the event:
Truly the ‘Olympics of Travel,’ couch potatoes and armchair travelers need not apply. This real world travel adventure competition is only for the hardiest and most curious travel savvy Type-A globetrotters. GreatEscape2008 is for those who crave authentic adventure, genuine exotic travel, real competition and world-class fun.
Think you’ve got what it takes? visit their website at www.GlobalScavengerHunt.com for the details.
I know you probably don’t have $10,000 laying around, but you can always do some fund raising on your own and see if you can get travel companies and travel philanthropists (are there such a thing?) to sponsor you.
it will certainly be the travel adventure of a lifetime, and if you have the means to do it — don’t pass this one up!
