Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonder-stink
Wai-O-Tapu means “Sacred Waters” in the Maori language, and the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland is a sort of touristic tribute to the natural beauty and supernatural stink of these sulfurous geo-thermal phenomena. Slightly interesting, sometimes beautiful, often ugly, and always stinky — probably not worth the $25 entry fee (I’d have gladly payed $10) — so check out the video instead. you won’t even have to plug your nose!
