Milton Keynes is a lively town in the North of Buckinghamshire with a real city-like feel. It has expanded a great deal since it was designated as a new town less than 50 years ago. If you’re worried about keeping the children entertained, there are even children’s lessons and fun actives to take part in such as sledging and ice sliding.
If you’re looking for more retail therapy then the centre MK across the road is a fantastic indoor shopping centre with a great selection of high street retail stores and department stores such as John Lewis and House of Fraser. You’ll also find a selection of places to eat. As well as what the department stores and cafes have to offer you’ll see Pizza Express, Wagamama, Giraffe, Jamie’s Italian and even a number of fast food restaurants.
Milton Keynes Theatre opened in 1999 and hosts a fantastic range of productions and performances throughout the year. If the line-up doesn’t take your fancy the see what’s on at the Stables or the Milton Keynes National Bowl, which occasionally holds some fantastic live music events. If you don’t fancy heading back to your hotel in Milton Keynes just yet, Xscape thrives in the evening. Along with Restaurants and a Weatherspoons, there’s a small but good selection of bars including Revolution and a nightclub called Wonderworld.
