It used to be that to see a number of different countries you’d have to save up for a long, around the world trip and visit them all in one go. It was the only way to make the flights affordable.
This is still the way that many people get to see the world, and if you have the time for a trip like this, then it’s all well and good. However, if you’re not able to take a sabbatical or you’re not quite ready to throw in the towel on your job just yet, then there aren’t many bosses around who will give you that much time off in these dire economic times.
Just as well then, that you can take a series of cheap holidays to different countries instead. Today, with so many budget airlines around and so many budget holiday companies, it’s much more possible than it used to be to see the world one or two countries at a time, and go back to your day job in between your trips.
And you can get to many destinations from regional airports too. For example, it’s as easy to book all inclusive holidays from Belfast as it is to book them from Gatwick, with so many different airlines and holiday companies in operation.
So, whether you feel like a city break to one of Europe’s most iconic cities, or you just want a few days rest and relaxation on the beach on the Med, all you need to do is set your budget and choose where you want to fly from, and then see what’s available. The more flexible you can be on where you go and when, the better, as that’s when you’ll really start to find the bargain prices.
It may not be quite the same as travelling for six months or a year, but it’s a great way to feed your travel bug, even though you have to still go to work most of the time!
